Nancy

when people ask me where i work, i usually state proudly that i work for “the dean of the business college.” 1) it sounds prestigious, 2)i like fooling people that it’s prestigious. usually i’m typing up name tags for alumni reunions or making copies or running errands around campus. but it’s actually a great job because it’s on campus, the tasks change everyday, and the ladies i work for are very sweet.
except *Nancy.
just imagine Miranda Priestly in real life (you know, Meryl Streep’s character in The Devil Wears Prada) walking about the business college of Cal Poly San Luis Obispo. Doesn’t sound too believable right? WRONG. She exists, her name is Nancy, and she and I work in the same office. Making me the Andrea Sachs of the Orfalea College of Business who runs her errands in a state of slight fear.
but i don’t do regular tasks for Nancy; they’re more like personal chores. the other day I was in the middle of mailing out annual reports to all the business schools in the US, and she walks in, sets her keys down on the counter right next to her ipod touch (protected by a pink leather Kate Spade case) and says, “my car is parked in the meters by the lawn. when this timer goes off, can you please find a spot for me? thanks.” And then walks away.
Umm, alright.
ummmm. alright.
cuz that’s in my job description. clearly.
but hey, i don’t mind valeting cars as long as i’m getting paid for it. :)
c’est la vie,
Chappie
*name has been changed for obvious reasons

hahaha….. now that would be something that would happen in my life. HA. well eventually if you continue to follow the movie lines, you begin to become “Nancy like” and quit and whatever you do dont become nancy! lol and dont quit either, I would just cleverly park Nancys car far away where she cant find it. but then again thats wrong, but funny.
LOL!
